Hello all, my name is Mike and I just bought my first Savage 1899 and am interested in finding out more about these old rifles.
Mine is a 300 Savage and it was made in 1954. It was missing the rear sight and has scope mounts but no scope. I'm interested in restoring it with the correct rear sight but not sure which style was original. I do own several other Savage firearms.
Forgot to mention I'm living in California and I'm retired.
