It’s the model that came dipped in mossy oak brush. 22” med contour 1-9 barrel
I cut the barrel an inch and re crowned it with an 11* target crown.
I’ve been playing with the mil spec MK262 mod 1
It’s sub MOA out to 300yds That’s as far as I have been able to shoot it.
I’m at sea level 400ft
Can I expect to get out to 600yds and the bullet still get there stable or will it start to flip and tumble?

What is the actual twist in your stock savage 1-9 barrel?

Any experience?
Thanks,

Not sure. The 77SMK is stable in my 22" Axis out to 400 and seems to be ok at 600. And that is not max loads like the Black Hills stuff. I am at 5000ft.

As long as the wind doesn't remind me who is stronger, I've had the 77gr SMK out past 1k.

In a 1-9 barrel at sea level? Dang.

Yes, shooting these 'little' bullets at range is a lesson in wind management. Even with flags it is tough sometimes. Wind from the right at 200, from the left at 600. I am still learning, a lot!

Down in the valley of the sun(600ft?), or here at about 1,000. The bullet seems to cross trans-sonic safely(again, assuming wind isn't throwing jabs).

Well I’m glad to announce that at 600yds
Sea level, thick air, little wind I can bang a 8” plate. The 77gn smk mk262 is still punching clean round holes in paper. Once I got my DOPE on a big piece of cardboard it was a pretty easy task.
Cheers
