I have several SSS triggers and a Rifle Basix Sav-1. For the next build that is in the works I was considering trying a Rifle Basix Sav-2.

For those who've owned both the SSS and Sav-2, is their an advantage to the Sav-2 over the SSS?

IMHO, I REALLY like the new trigger from Jard. Easy install and breaks clean.

I have both, and really like them both(actually have SSS, SAV1, SAV2, and Timney). I personally can get the SSS trigger as light as I want it to be for my uses, so I cant see spending the extra $50 on a SAV-2 again. My SAV2 has a scary light pull wt, which is fine for at the range but feel it is too much for shooting ground rats.

If you are using it for any type of field use, you wont need the SAV2.

I prefer a really light trigger pull for bench and even for varmint use (not big game as much though). I've actually modified the accutrigger on my .17HMR to be lighter than I can get the SSS triggers and love it. So...I'm looking to get pull weight for the new rifle in the 6-8oz range, safely.

I didn't realize they were making Savage triggers. I may have to look into them.

What I don't like about the sav-2 is that its sear engagement is kinda crude, as is the sear engagement adjustment. The SSS trigger does not rely on the sear itself for sear engagement and seems much more precise of an adjustment.
I had an sav-1 and it was the biggest piece of junk I ever saw for nearly $100. I returned it and have been trying to avoid riflebasix ever since - it was that bad.
