Can I get Gunsmith install a Muzzle break on my Axis rifle, if so what would be cost.

Just curious, cause this rifle has such a bad kick, and would hope that would stop kick little.

Sporter barrels typically have a muzzle diameter somewhere between 0.560" and 0.590" which is typically too small to thread for most all calibers. I know some guys here have put clamp-on breaks on their sporter barreled rifles with good success, so that may be an option for you.

You could consider a clamp on brake from Witt Machine or Kahntrol.

Thanks, with in mind, I just did a search and found this website, which carry's bolt on Muzzle Brake.
I now have to look into research it.

I ordered Muzzle Brake from the website above, might add, fast delivery, and just installed it today.

Going to rifle range Wednesday to check it out, I might add the 270 Win has kick, the website showing it be used with 308, and decreased condensable!

Will let you know since that's probably going to be last time I'll be at shooting range in some time, have cataract surgery next week on the eye's along with laser so I won't need glasses any longer.

Looking forward to it, I can see again.

Holy crap that thing's huge! Be interesting how your rifle shoots because the barrel harmonics are going to be way different now with that boat anchor out there on the end.

That made me laugh. I was scrolling down to post the same thing verbatim.

They may be able tho thread it as is, If not ou could always have the gunsmith take a few inches off the barrel length and then thread it once he gets down to the meat of the barrel.
I had this one taken all the way down to 16" and threaded a while back and love the way it handles. The resulting carbine has become one of my favorite rifles. Barrels too short blah blah blah. None of the targets or deer seem to complain.

I was thinking of getting the barrel cut, and threaded, but only shoot paper, at range, cutting paper. I figure lot cheaper.

Nice Lefty, aim straight.

I dread the thought of having to have either done in the future knowing what my mom had to go through with hers. She didn't have any complications, just all the eye drops and such. I can't hit my eyeball with an eye-drop to save my life and she had like 4 different eye drops she had to do several times a day.

That brake has enough weight to bend the barrel.......it's a sure bet to shoot low. I wouldn't worry much about your eyes....protect your ears, that's going to be obnoxiously loud.

Went to the range today, the two holes you see to the right were a test, no aiming put into cradle hid beyond a wall and hope for the best.

I did it twice no damage to me or the barrel, I aimed using the tri-pod and shot, the kick was like shooting a 22LR with Mini Mag.

The foam on the walls, the blast was tearing it off the walls, I cleaned it up, before range officer saw it!

Can’t wait till I get my eye’s fixed, and go to the 100 yards, this at 25 yards.

I'm surprised you didn't have everyone at the range over there after the first shot thinking something blew up being it's a short indoor range. haha

You be surprised at how loud it really was, because of the concrete walls bouncing the noise, no louder if I removed Muzzle Brake.

Now that I know it works cause the kick was so little, can't wait to go outdoors, but right now it's pouring out, just like yesterday so there be lot of mud, so now I'll wait till I get all clear from the Doctor after both eyes surgery.
