Thanks for the add. I turned 50 last year and took my 1st trip out to Montana as my gift to myself. Looking to head West more now. I grew up in Tennessee with an old Savage 30-30 that was my dads. I've always had good luck with their accuracy and functions. I was torn between a Hell's Canyon long range or the new High Country in 300wm. I ordered the Savage last month so now just waiting for Savage to get it mailed out. I took my 116 FCSS 30-06 for my Elk hunt and was confident in shooting out to 450 yrds with it, no further just due to the 06 ballistics. Shot my muley at 268 yrds. I slipped down from above him as he bedded. Had my elk in sights at 400 yrds after watching him move from being bedded at 600 yrds. Cow elk got spooked and they ran back into a heard of maybe 75. Took the guides 30 Hart nailed him at 600 and dropped him at 660. Thanks again for the add
