Hi All,

I've been reading posts for a little while and purchased an Edge in .223. I'm a bargain hunter (limited budget) and hunt will all my guns. I only target shot to get sighted in for an upcoming hunt or if I change something on a gun, so I'm satisfied with 2" groups (however smaller is always better). Well after a good cleaning and about 40 rounds through I got 4 out of 5 shots just under .5 inch group! The heavy trigger got to me on the 5th shot. Not bad at all for $259.99 plus $149.99 Redfield 3-9x40 scope.

This is what $410 got me.

After reading this topic (http://savageshooters.com/SavageForum/index.php/topic,36216.0.html) I got to thinking and monkeying around. I found that a 9/64 Allen wrench wedged perfectly in the trigger spring hole with no modifications or glue/epoxy at all .Not all 9/64 wrenches are created equal. Only the one I had made by Husky worked...not sure why. I cut a piece long enough to have about 1/4 inch sticking out the top. I got a $0.46 spring at True Value, and what a difference!! No creep and a much improved trigger pull. I can't wait to get out and give it a try with the lighter trigger!!

These are rounds 61-70 of Wolf brand ammo through my Edge at 100 yards. Only 8 distinct holes but 10 rounds went through the paper. Shooting with the Bushnell 3x9-40 that came factory installed. $279 from Dunhams on sale about a month ago. So far I am very happy with my Savage Edge and will be even more happy when I put down my first coyote with it.

Aandabooks - You got me beat by $130! Add in some good ammo and you'll get groups just as good. I'm with you...time to take out some coyote's

lucy123 - You're son will like it. I was nervous at first. I was getting bad groups, but 40-50 rounds through it and the groups started coming together nicely.
