Forgive me if this is a dumb question but I'm kind of new to this style of mag.

Are all AICS style magazines interchangeable (as long as caliber/action length etc are the same)?

I ask this because the price of both polymer and metal magazines are all over the place so there has to be a difference, right?

thanks

In theory yes, AICS should be a standard...although if you read around you will see people say some mags don't work in their guns. The metal ones will usually allow you to load a longer OAL if you need that extra length. And because of the thinner walls some of the metal ones are a slight double stack design to let them be a bit shorter.

Thank you, I have read where some people where having different results, thus leading to my confusion. Since they are not so cheap, I'm looking to spend the money once.

I would personally try the cheaper composite mags and see if they work, provided they meet your needs. With a metal mag you can bend the feed lips a bit if needed for issues. I have a PTG DBM on a 12FV and Magpul mags feed great while saving some $$$.
