I'm getting ready to start playing with my first build off an Axis action. I found one of the newer Axis stocks (they look and feel a whole lot better than the originals IMO and don't flex thanks to the reinforcements) to drop the action in. The stock has a short insert used to accept short action magazines. Since the Axis is an intermediate length action that will shoot both short and long action calibers (at least, that's my understanding - please correct me if I have that wrong), I'm wondering if there is also an even shorter insert for the long action magazines? I've never seen one despite all the searching I've done. Is that a call to Savage for the part? It couldn't be very expensive. It is a pretty small piece of plastic with a metal pillar in it.

One of the reasons I bought the Axis action was just in case I wanted to build a .280 Remington someday to go with my 7mm-08.

Thanks.

Sure there is...how do you think they accommodate long action calibers?

Well I assumed there was, but wasn't sure. Have you seen one or know how to get one?
