Shorter 25-20

Hey guys. New to the site but a long time hunter and shooter.
Recently received my grandfathers Savage Sporter 25-20 and for the life of me, I can not find a model number or serial number. The only thing I can find is the patent number dates, the Savage Sporter stamp on top of the barrel, and the 25-20 stamp back by the safety tab.
What am I missing here? Any ideas?

Welcome! Being produced prior to the 68 Gun Control Act, it's hit or miss whether a rifle has a serial number. Calling Savage Customer Service may be of some help.
