B22 FV Action screw torque specs?

What are you guys finding to be the best torque spec for the action screws on your B22's?

If I recall correctly the manual says 20in-lbs. I just purchased a wheeler fat wrench and took the action out of the stock for the first time. Reinstalled the action screws at 20in-lbs.

I plan on bringing the fat wrench with me next time I can get out to do some shooting but who knows when the next nice day will be up here in Quebec Canada, usually -20 wind gusts of 35 kph this time of year.

Place the action back into the STOCK, push firmly rearward to ensure contact in the recoil lug area, and secure the front STOCK ASSEMBLY SCREW first to 40 inch pounds. Install the rear STOCK ASSEMBLY SCREW to 40 inch pounds.

Thanks for the info Retired. Maybe Ill call savage today and see what the deal is. Maybe I got a early run and since then they have been shipping them with new manuals. My manual seems to be for every bolt action savage rimfire made in the last few years. 40 inch lbs would made sense though seeing as there are pillars in the factory plastic stock.

I adjusted mine to 35inch pounds to be on the safe side.

I called savage in Ontario Canada where all the rimfire rifles are made, rep went to ask someone in assembly and called me back.

He said 18 inch lbs for the B22 action screws.
The B-mag how ever is 40 inch lbs.

I haven’t shot mine to see what my groups are like since taking it out of the stock and retorquing to 20 inch lbs. But you might want to consider backing yours off.
