Hello from SoCal. I've never owned a Savage (anything) before, but I own several firearms. I'm buying a used rifle Model 11 in 308 from another Calguns member, but I need help figuring out the exact model. I believe I've narrowed it down to either an Axis II or Trophy Hunter XP? The current owner doesn't know either. It has a 22 inch carbon steel barrel, black synthetic stock, accutrigger, and a 3-9x40 Nikon BCD scope, and a LH action ...I'm lefty. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome. It's a M11 Trophy Hunter XP.

Axis (Axies?) don't have "Model 11" stamped on the barrel and have a funky bolt with cut-outs in the shank.

M11 left (actually I think it's a M111), Axis right (Image stolen shamelessly from https://resultadoloterias.co/explain_savage_11_rifle_bolt_diagram.php. I'd fix that corrosion spot. ;-). )

These pics helped a lot. The throphy hunter xp is an upgrade of the axis II, right?

More like an advanced precursor. The Axis, which came after, is a M11 made to a lower price point.

In my humble opinion, of course.
