And, yes, it could be the holes in the receiver are off a little.

Sorry. Missed the question about the stock screws. The rear screw takes the short screw. The long screw can be cut down to size as i did. I believe it needs to be 1.25". I guessed and scut it still a tad long. Then by looking in the chamber( bolt must be open for getting length) you can see how much needs to come off. I threaded a nut onto the screw prior to cutting. Then a slight chamfer to the end after cutting. Then run the nut off to insure threads are clean and good to go.

When the screw is slightly below where the bolt lug locks in, your good to go.

Mags are the MDT polymer 8 rounders ( hold 9 easy, 10 is a tad hard) and i ordered from Brownells with $10 off and free shipping. Hand feed and function are just fine but 308 bullet cant be more than 2.80" to fit mag.

Thanks for the info. The chassis is out for delivery today so should be fitting it up later.

As far as the mount holes go I need to take the rail back off but the driver bit EGW included in the package already stripped so I’ll have to get them out another way. Once I do that I’ll check all the holes but I’m hoping it’s just the rail and not the action. Update to follow and if the snow ever stops I’d love to shoot it with the chassis and get some more time behind the Crossfire.

You might want to order a 6-48 starter tap and bottoming tap in case you need to straighten out the threads. Easy to find and cheap. http://egwguns.com/mount-faq

Those are a standard Torx bit. You can find them at just about any hardware store.

I have other torx drivers. Just really disappointed with the quality of EGW’s hardware. I bought it thinking it’d be one of the higher quality options since their products get suggested a lot. Now one of the screws is stripped so trying to get it out of the receiver at the moment. [emoji2959]

I misunderstood. I thought you meant the driver was stripped, not the screw. That is a PITA.

Stealth chassis arrived today from Numrich. Besides a few scuffs I’m really happy with it:

Love how it looks and the adjustable stock with the large scope is a Godsend. The Magpul Pmag feeds 10 rounds perfectly. Can’t wait to get it to the range [emoji1303]

Looks good! I was so glad when I saw they had them in stock and bought mine. I was ready for an upgrade. I think I an still going to shoot off bags until I choose one of the loads I worked up and finish testing one more already loaded.

The one I bought literally got posted while I was viewing another one. For some reason they list them separately between 308 and 6.5 but it's the same chassis. The one I ordered was listed as a 308 and missing the nuts on the adjustable cheek piece for $250 so I jumped on it. Added a couple standard nuts and lock washers and boom good as new. Now that everything is set I'll be doing some dry fire practice to take care of the other nut behind the gun while I wait for the weather to make up its mind. Good old Indiana.

Any of you guys had experience swapping bolt bodies? I would like to swap the stainless jeweled bolt for the black bolt found in the 10 BA and others just for the look (I love black). Is there any fitting or any custom work to be done when swapping bodies or are they all the same?

Forgot I had 2 accounts for whatever reason this is still the OP.

Gave the bore a good scrub with copper remover like you guys suggested. Hopefully between this, better rings and the chassis I've eliminated all but operator error. Just need to re-zero and get a QD sling adapter and finally get out to take care of the coyote problem.

I really like it. Their buttstocks are nice too. Mine is black. It was a little slick so i sprayed some textured paint on it. Ive had this setup out to 630 yards. Need to find a place to stretch out some more.

Good to hear, I have already made my mind up about using the xlr tactical lite
https://xlrindustries.com/collections/buttstocks/products/tactical-lite-butt-stock

but saw this knock off in another thread in savage shoots. guy said he got one, and was hoping he would give it a review.

Yes original barrel. I’m not sure the length of the handguard but it’s on the shorter side compared with the other chassis on the market. It’s the same chassis from the 10BA stealth if you want to look up specs.
