Sorry guys but I am a new to all this and would like to stay under $100 for a scope and mount for a Mark 2 GL. Plinking and pest control around 50 yards or less. I do wear reading glasses (for focusing up close).

There is a new Youtube video of a Mark II using an OTW 3-12x40 scope from Amazon. Its just over $70 and you can pick up a set of Burris Zee, Weaver Steel rings or even some Leupold Rifleman if you want stay on a low budget. Just make sure you get the height of the rings correct. With factory bases you need high or extra high rings.

I found a set of mounts and rings at Bass Pro designed specifically for the Mark II for about $25 total. I'm pretty sure they are either Leupold or Weaver. It was a couple years ago. I also got a great deal on a Bushnell 3-9x32 at a gun show for $50 out the door. $75 invested and it all works great. I've got my Mark II zeroed at 50 yrds and can place shots in a 3/4" circle with ease using the factory trigger. However, I've just send in to get my trigger serviced by savagegunsmithing.com, and can't wait to get it back. I've heard they are fantastic when it comes to working on Savage rimfires.
