Hello all,

I'm looking forward to learning from this community, and maybe even sharing some ideas once I have some Savage ownership experience under my belt.

I've been involved with shooting and hunting for over 40 years now. Formerly a DCM and 22LR silhouette shooter, and a recovering skeet shooter. My uses for rifles are mostly pest control and filling our big freezer with venison. Shotguns add ducks, geese and pheasant to the table.

Just got my youngest (13 years old) started with his first centerfire rifle, a brand-new 110 Storm in 6.5 Creedmoor. Why that particular rifle and caliber? He researched both topics himself, as a "homework" assignment from me. End goal is for him to join me, his older brother and other family members for whitetail hunting and also antelope / mule deer hunting out West. He really put a lot of thought into it, and asked other family members and me a lot of questions. He made such a good case that his uncle (my brother) now has a 110 Storm in 7mm-08 on order. His grade for this assignment, from his proud papa: A.

Barrel break-in for our new rifle is now complete, and it's a very consistent 1 to 1.25 MOA shooter with my son shooting it off the bench. He has done all the load selection / handloading with me supervising.
