I bought this rifle several years ago and shot it a bit with the open sights, I put maybe 75 rounds through it and put it away. It sat in the back of my safe for 3 years and just last week saw it and pulled it back out. I decided to mount a scope on it and see how accurate it really is, I mounted a Bushnell banner 3-9x40 and headed to the range. I was just using PMC bronze 55g and some handloads a friend loaded for me. WOW can this thing shoot, with just a front rest off a bench it can easily shoot the center of a bullseye out at 100 yards. 130-150 yards orange clays are history, I only missed 3 out of 30. I brought it home and cleaned it up and I'm mounting a better scope on it, this rifle has really impressed me. Yeah it has an internal box mag but that doesn't bother me at all, and I guess I didn't realize what I had hidden in the back of the safe for the past few years.

then again, my model 11 trophy hunter xp 22-250 also shoots under 1” with tupperware stock and sporter barrel

Now you gotta get it’s bigger brother, the .308!

I wish Savage would make the hog hunter in 7.62x39, I think it would be the perfect round for that rifle.

I’d buy one in a second! x39 is a great short range round... Ruger is selling tons of those x39 American Ranch rifles.
