Thinking about getting a Vortex Viper 3.5-10x50mm to put on a 308 I am building for my 11 yr old. Here's my only concern: fixed parallax. I own a bunch of scopes, but all have adjustable parallax but the scopes on my 22s. Any issues with using this as a hunting scope? Tim

It will be fine. I can't think of any scopes in that zoom range with AO

I'm considering the same exact scope for my deer/bear rifle since it is such a great deal. I never even considered the non-AO being an issue, but dont plan to shoot over 200-300yds either.

I have had MANY Vortex Vipers and love them, but does anyone have this same model?

I just put a 2-7x32 Viper on a 308 I built for my 12y.o. son. We love it. Its the highest quality scope I've ever bought and for $175 it was a great buy. He's always been slow to get a good sight picture and this scope has pretty much fixed that problem. He pulls the gun up and is ready to fire much quicker than ever before.
