Well I'm a new Savage axis owner. Just picked up a 22-250 with the rebate couldn't pass up. I've owned a Savage 110 and liked it. And can say I will be replacing the stock.

22-250 is a great round, coyotes hate it. I have a 243 Axis, I bought it because it was light and cheap. I did replace the trigger and did nothing to the stock other than the initial disassembly and cleaning. Mine didn't come with bases and one hole wasn't tapped all the way so I sent it in and they fixed it. It was returned with bases which I took off and replaced with Talley Lightweight Rings/Bases.
