I was wondering if anyone knew of a company (or a person) that makes a long action, detachable mag stock with a varmint barrel contour. I would really like something with a little wider forend, similar to my choate varmint, or medalist. I am also not wanting to break the bank, so probably $250 max. I have done searches and cannot find anything. I also do not have my action in hand yet, and I don't know if it is a centerfeed or staggerfeed dbm, I do know that it is a magnum action. That shouldn't matter with a long action though, correct? I have found a couple places with sporter style stocks and I know I could open those up to a varmint barrel, but I am really looking for something with the wider forend like I mentioned. If anyone has any info, or a lead, I would appreciate it.

Stockade can make you one or Sharpshooter. You could also have sharpshooter mill out just about any long action stock it fit. If you new action is in fact new production and a detach it should be center feed. I don't know of anyone selling a mass produced long action DBM stock yet. I'd love to have one myself. I like the look of the stockade woodchuck but haven't gotten in line for one just yet.

Has anyone tried any of the hogue stocks yet? Does anyone know if they are for a centerfeed or staggeredfeed?

I dont think you are going to find one in that price range; consider getting a Savage VLP or BVSS stock and sending it to CDI or find a Mcmillan, either way it is gonna be a little pricey.

If I can find a bvss or a vlp I can do the inletting myself, I just haven't found a centerfeed, and am not sure about the differences on the long action.

Check Numrich. I got my BVSS stock from them, $195.
