I got my first Savage almost three years ago (a 93R17). Almost two years ago I got a new Axis II XP in 270 Win. Both rifles were very accurate so I invested in new stocks for them (a Richards Microfit for the 93 and a Boyds for the Axis). I recently picked-up a very accurate old JC Higgins Model 50 (Mauser action/High Standard barrel) in 270 Win so I'm thinking about converting my Axis to become my first medium bore rifle (35 Whelen or 375 Ruger) and figured I'd better stop lurking here and finally join this forum before I order any parts!

Thanks for the welcomes. I've learned much here already! I think my 270 Win Axis is going to become a 375 Ruger Axis soon.:cheerful: The conversion doesn't appear to be difficult at all. The hardest thing might be the waiting for a barrel delivery from ER Shaw.
