Anyone shooting one? Thoughts? Would you do it again? I have a 5.56x42 hurling little bullets fast...now I am thinking I want a bolt gun chambered in something overbore to send bigger bullets fast. My 7RM will send 120’s around 3400 but it looks like the 26N is putting up 100’s close to 4k. Okay gurus...change my mind. This is just a fun build. No particular purpose.

As long as you're ok with a barrel life of around 800-900 rounds... Go for it!! I'm sure it would make it fun to shoot. OR Have you thought about going with the 6.5-300 that I see has started coming out (Saw it posted in a magazine a month or 2 ago).

I've shot one- don't own one. Shooting it a few times was enough for me. As a specialized tool I guess it has its place- as far as a "fun" round to shoot- I didn't see it. It was chambered in a lighter weight hunting rifle and I wouldn't call it a hard recoiling rifle- but it is that "sharp" hit combined with a lot of muzzle blast. And to me- that is more unpleasant to shoot than one of the bigger guns that pushes you more than slaps you. After 3 shots the barrel was hot enough it was painful to touch.

Around my area people are not really liking the 26- if I was judging by what I see around here I would only bet on the 28 Nosler to make it. The 30 is just a rimless 300wm and I think their are much better .338's than the 33Nosler. But that's just what I see locally. It is a very flat shooting hunting round though, but when you look at how much more powder you are burning (with it and the 6.5-300wby) to get that last few hundred fps.... just not worth it to me.

There's always the .300RUM with a huge selection of bullets if you don't mind buying powder by the truckload, a beating that may well send you to the doctors office, or drinking deer through a straw.

I'm interested to see how the 6.5 PRC or the 300 PRC perform in the long term.
