I finished my first build about a week ago. I am very happy with the way it all came together (although it's still unfired). Started as a new Stevens in 30-06. Added a 26" McGowen in 6.5x55, SSS recoil lug, Rifle Basix trigger, Stockade prairie dog special that I painted myself, EGW base with a SWFA SS 16-42. I think it turned out great and without this site, i likely wouldn't have ever thought to do it. I'm already looking towards the next build.

Nice rifle, I have my P-dog on order, I went with the Kevin's DBM setup. What did you use to paint the stock?

Everything was rattle can. I started with 2 coats of grey primer after filling and sanding the stock smooth. I then used a Rustoleum camo paint for a couple coats of the green. I then used Krylon webbing spray for the web effect. I finished with 4 coats of Krylon matte clear. I was most nervous with the webbing, but it turned out pretty good. Now I'll have to see how durable it ends up being.
