I bought an Edge 22-250 ( before Savage had to change the name to Axis ) and bought an M*CARBO pro trigger upgrade kit BUT the older Edge trigger's rear spring hole is smooth and not threaded like the Axis rear hole is..........So, I need a factory trigger out of an Axis model so I can use my M*CARBO upgrade kit.......

Where can I find or search or buy a factory trigger out of an Axis? I'm sure plenty of people have them laying around after swapping them for either a Timney or one from Rifle Basix

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. I'm sure there are places out there but not sure of any. Please help.

Or you could tap the smooth hole.

You won't tap something that hard...

I can't remember exactly how much clearance there is but I would say you could weld,or braise a small tap on top of the hole. You could even grind a little off the trigger if needed. You could grind the tap down as well if needed.

You can drive a small roll pin into the hole that the tight coil end of the factory spring goes into in order to hold the spring (for the spring to ride over just like a screw) instead of tapping the hole.
Get one a little longer than you need and cut it and file it if it protrudes too much.
Just take the part/ trigger to the hardware store to match it up to the appropriate diameter roll pin. Off hand I cant remember the correct size.
Have fun with your project.

PS, You can also buy the springs at a hardware store (a real hardware store like Ace, probably not "The big box home store") for just a few cents without having to buy a "trigger upgrade" kit.
