Wondering if anyone knows the dimensional differences between a bottom bolt release Savage short action, and a top bolt release Savage short action?
I have a Savage 12FV, with top bolt release, but have an opportunity to drop it into a chassis for the right price, but the chassis was made for a bottom bolt release. Not afraid of doing minor mods if necessary, my dremel skills are at least somewhat decent. More worried about action screws and any dimensional difference that might make it more of a pain in the ass than I want to deal with.
The chassis would be an old G5 Mcrees.
