Guys i am looking at trying to run my 6 BR brass through a collet die prior to loading. I have read a lot of threads and thought on how to make alterations to make this possible.

What has worked best for you?

What are possible issues to watch for?

Has it improved your accuracy and consistency?

No modifications needed. Just set the die up as normal. I use the 6PPC collet die for my BR all the time. Even when I full length size I run the round back thru the collet die to true up the neck. The runout goes to 0 after the collet die.

You will probably have to reduce the diameter of the decapping pin of the collet die so it fits through the flash hole of the 6BR brass. Simply chuck the pin in a drill, firmly squeeze the pin with some some sandpaper and spin it.

What is the length of the decapping pin for your collet die? I have to make a new pin from a 243 Win pin.

I follow Lees advice and size twice rotating 180 with the collet. I also use the little Lee crimp die and set it for a very light crimp also following Lees advice. These have tightened my groups and may work for you.
