Does any one have a Woodchuck or a Hunting Sporter. I'm a lefty and was told the Mule Deer would be out of the question so I need a Woodchuck or a Hunting Sporter. So does anyone know the difference in weight or if I can put a Shilen heavy sporter on a Stockade Hunting Sporter? If the weight difference is quite large I would like to go with the lighter stock because this is my main hunting rifle in 7mag.

Kevin would likely share the weights with you if asked. I would assume that the hunting sporter would be lighter than the woodchuck, solely due to the more narrow forearm.

I recently put a Benchmark light mag contour barrel in a stockade hunting sporter, fit like a dream. A heavy mag contour might require a bit of sanding...but Kevin would know for sure. I'd suggest calling him up and asking the right questions before placing your order.

Give Kevin a call, He will give you as much help as he can. I just ordered from him.

Just talked to Kevin the Shilen heavy sporter I ordered will fit fine in the Hunting Sporter stock so I pulled the trigger and now I get to wait the 16 weeks I can't wait this is my first rifle build.

I put a Douglas #4 heavy sporter in the Hunting Sporter stock and had to do a little sanding in the chanel to float it.
