Hi all. I'm in need of primary extractor baffle for one of my model 10s. Anyone know where I might find one?....thanks in advance

Savage would be your best bet as that's not something that's a common replacement part to warrant enough demand for the independent suppliers to stock them.

I believe Midway USA has them. Just checked...If I'm looking at the right part they have it for $5.99.

Only part I found for 5.99 is the extractor itself. The primary extractor baffle would probably be more money if the did have one.

I believe what the OP is looking for is what we often call the rear baffle.

I have seen a rear baffle on eBay not to long ago. Might check there.

Thanks guys. Yes it's the rear baffle. I've been having primary extraction issues for some time now. Finally found the problem. A mere $15 part. Found it at gun shack.
Again thanks for the response guys!

Eddie, There has been a fix for that floating around the forum for a long time. It requires the use of two set screws. Sometimes it is the bolt.

I just purchased one from savage for $18.00 shipped

Roger that. I read up on it a few days ago. I temporarily fixed the issue with a .028 shim I made. Works perfectly.

If you wouldn't mind. Can you mic the thickness of the baffle when it comes in and post it.

Eddie, If you have access to a mill you can mill the .028 off the end of the bolt to get your PE. Just maintain the detail on the end of the bolt body so the bolt handle gets tight when you screw in the BAS.

That's too much work hood. I left my shim in place until my replacement baffle comes in. I've sent about 50 pills down the pipe with easy extraction. I've got 3 model 10s, I simply swapped the baffle to verify. I'm not crazy about swapping parts when out shooting so I made a shim. Smooth as butter. I miced baffles and sure enough, there's a discrepancy. The ramp on the bolt handle isn't worn. The bluing has been removed from use but no metal degradation.
