Greetings all, recently received a Savage Axis XP .270 Win for my birthday. Haven't taken it to the range but can't wait. Hope to make some new friends here and get the best out of my new rifle with some advice and suggestions from you all. I'm a retired Army vet, so most of my shooting was with an M-16 but I'm looking forward to some elk and mule deer hunts in the near future and hope this little .270 will fit the bill. And I just want to find out how accurate I can get out past 300 m.
