Does anyone make a bolt head for the axis or is machining a 110 version the only option?

I think a PTG shortmag BH works.

I did this with my axis. pt&g makes a short action magnum bolt head. So does savage for that matter. It was designed for the WSM type cartridge . The axis takes short action boltheads .
The firing pin depth matches. no filing of bolt head . its actually very ez. need extractor and detent ball, ejector , and spring . you can use the original one. mine ejects fine . a little week but 7 mm rem mag is a big piece of brass. but absolutley clears action .

Kingdom, It has been my experience that the Short Action Mag bolt head is an 1/8 inch longer than its standard bolt head brother. This would mean that the firing pin would need to be compressed another .125". It may work but that fact is worth noting.
