Okay Savage gurus....you guys are my only hope.

The title pretty much says it all.
I am assembling a 110 from a box of parts....and I mean a box of parts. I have it all set to go, but the safety is giving me fits. It either binds and doesn’t move, or it moves all the way forward off of the bearing pin and jams up the action. It has a new detent spring as that was one of the missing parts I had to order. This thing is just giving me fits! Any ideas to try?

Is this an accutrigger or a standard savage trigger with an adjustable safety screw on the trigger?

Standard trigger. Non-three screw. Has over-travel and safety engagement screw on the back of the trigger...nothing up front.

Thanks. I have that guide and several other “trigger adjustment” instructional write-ups. I’m really looking for mechanical troubleshooting ideas as my issue is more of an assembly/function problem than an adjustment issue.

The wavy detent spring snaps over the pin, not under it....a mistake many make. Assemble the trigger and the safety into the trigger bracket with the safety in the "on" position. Back off the safety adjustment screw about 1 turn. Assemble the trigger bracket into the receiver and install the sear. Using a slave pin, (a 10 penny spike will work) installed from the opposite side of the sear return spring to line everything up. Slide the slave pin back enough to place the return spring between the bolt release lever and the sear leg and recapture the spring.
Now replace the slave pin with the sear pivot pin by pushing the pin in thus pushing out the slave pin. Re-adjust the safety screw till it blocks the trigger and will slide freely without binding.

Exactly the method I use.
