mods to convert 308 to 223 on Model 10

Hi

I have a Savage model 10 308 staggerfeed blind box. looking to convert to 223, I have the bolt head, and will re barrel but where would I find a staggerfeed follower for 223. As it currently sits, it seems to feed with the current follower. I bought this for a build and somehow didn't pay attention that it is a 4.27 spacing staggerfeed. Is my best move to sell and start over. It has a precision stock and everything looks quite nice on the rifle.

These parts may be hard to find. I would contact Savage Arms first. Ask for parts department. Give them your rifle serial number. Besides the .223 SF magazine box and follower, you will need the extended front bolt baffle to shorten bolt throw (http://www.gunshack.com/savage-parts/savage-bolt-head/savage-short-action-bolt-baffle).

If that fails, another option is become a paid member on site and place a Want To Buy (WTB) post in the classified section. A member may have a spare 223 SF magazine box and follower they are willing to sell.
