Stevens 311r Series j info

I am searching for info on Stevens 311r Series j aka 311 Riot or 311 Coach Gun. The first time I actually saw one in the wild was in 1985. I was a young man with a wife and new son. Buying something I didn't need and definitely couldn't afford wasn't a priority. I am now semi retired and would love to hear from anyone who has credible info on these. Especially would like to correspond with anyone who has owned one or previous employees of Stevens. Thanks for any assistance from this forum.

had a chance to buy one, about 15 years ago. 311 with factory 18" barrels cyl/cyl choke and bead sight. really stood out in the gun rack at the shop. very cool looking, but like you said no need, funds better spent else where. asking price then was about $250 I think. at the time a good deal for a 311 was under $200.

Made from 1983 - 1987, though I would imagine very limited production as this was before cowboy action took off so there was little demand for a SxS coach gun.
