Nailed my great grandfathers rifle down to a 1899h featherweight takedown. It has a 303 barrel with it, and also a wonderful shape 25-35 barrel. 20 inch barrel and rubber buttplate. Looking for ideas where I can find a forestock for it. It has a non takedown forestock on it now.
There is a square nut welded to the 303 barrel, where it would usually lock into stock..... Thankfully the 25-35 barrel wasnt touched. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I have an 1899H which letters as being shipped with both a 303 and 25-35 barrel. I only have the 303 barrel and it has entire 6 digit serial number of rifle stamped in small numerals on barrel bottom near receiver. The matching 25-35 barrel was probably also stamped with serial number. Are either of your barrels stamped with serial number?

I picked up one of those forearms in a $12 box of junk from a local gunshop, BUT, it is missing a chip. I should be able to make an invisible repair when I get around to it. They're where you find em.

Neither is stamped with a serial # on barrel. Kinda odd ? There are some markings, but no 6 digits. Gun has been in our family since the 1930's..... The 25-35 barrel is in great shape with a great bore..... 303 has lots more use.
