Is there any where i can find info on different loads for Spitzer bullets in my 340 or should i just stick with the round nose slugs ?
I would like to try 150s and 165 grain bullets.
Would the velocity of the 30-30 be enough to cause these bullets to expand properly as when shot from a 308 or 30-06 ?

The jacket is thinner and the lead core is softer on 30-30 bullets to expand at the lower 30-30 velocities 1800 to 2500 fps. And normally the reloading manuals list the velocity range for their bullets.

Hornady has their pointed Flex Tip 30-30 bullets in 140 and 160 grain weights designed for 30-30 velocities.

Note, the same bullets labeled "Marlin Express" are designed for slightly higher velocities up to 2800 fps so pay attention to the box labels.

Thank you Big e. I have thought the same thing that the 30-30 bullets would be a lower velocity tool .
I am not going to waste my time or bullets to play with them !
