300 WSM build question

Looking at putting a 300 WSM together for a possible Elk hunt this year. I want to run the Berger 180 Elite Hunter but I'm wondering about seating depth exceeding mag length in a SA. Would I be wiser to start with a LA and take that out of the equation?

Reasons for the 300 WSM over a 300 Win Mag are I already run the 180 Berger in my .308, I can use RE-16 and RE-26 which I already use for my 6.5 Creedmoors and I neck size all my brass and use a Redding body die to bump the shoulder when necessary. I've seen different opinions on FL sizing the 300 Win Mag due to the belt.

There is only 0.085" difference between the two cases, so my guess would be if it works well with your 308 in a SA it would work well with the WSM.
