I have a Stevens 12 gauge shotgun that I inherited when my Father passed away a couple of years ago. The only marks on the gun is a serial number H18XXX and on one of the barrels it has 12 ga. This gun has no other markings as to what model it is. It is a double barrel 12 gauge. I would like to clean it up and put a stock on it. But I cannot figure out what model it is. I would appreciate any help that I can get.

Thank you
Charlie

Assuming your double barrel Stevens is a side by side and not an over/under it is most likely a model 311. More info like barrel length, finish, choke tubes or not etc would help narrow it down.

A picture would be great too - since it has a serial number, it is almost certainly a 311 (or one of the variants).

Have not been able to take a picture of the gun. I have found out after some research that it is a model 315. I found a chart on the net that shows the measurments of the tangs. Each model is different. sometimes it just bites you and wow there it is.

Thank you for your help.
