Hello,

Recently acquired an MDT LSS chassis and the website indicated 65 Lb in on the action screws. I am putting it onder my Axis .243 barreled action. This sounds a little tight, so I wanted to check with you guys if this is receiver/screws will not be damaged.

Thanks for your response.

You're fine... pretty typical for chassis torques. Got my XLR Element @ 60lbs. Just to clarify... that is inch/lbs, NOT foot/lbs.

It could be ft lbs....5 to be exact.

Disclaimer. If this confuses you in the least bit, always use in/lb when torquing you 1/28 screws.

Thank you for all your responses. I tightened and it seems solid. Will be taking it to the range next week.

you can easily over tighten it by hand, and accuracy may suffer. for optimum accuracy you need to set the screws at various Tq and shoot groups until you find which tq shoots best. you'll be surprised if not shocked
