Age of Savage Model 1914 22lr

Need help finding the approximate date a Savage model 1914 22lr was made. The barrel is octagonal; the action is a pump; the serial number is #499xx.:confused:

If it helps the model 1914's were made from 1914 to 1926.............I doubt you will find a list of when each serial number was made. You can search the web for various serial numbers and see where your's fits in the mix.

As Road Rat says, there isn't much really good information on production records for Savages. The best guess is that there were only about 50,000 produced, so it appears yours was made toward the end of production. Therefore I would guess about 1925. I have one in nice shape, made around 1920. It's quite accurate, but suffers from occasional misfires.
