Hey guys,
in mid feb i purchased a 10ba stealth in 6.5, it shoots great, very very happy with it.
Today i was looking at photos of what others had done with this rifle and it hit me that every other rifle ive seen has a fluted barrel. Mine is not fluted.
Before I call savage tomorrow I thought I'd ask you guys if this is something than can be spec'd this way, if there was a batch like this, or maybe i just got swindled? lol
Im happy with the gun, but seeing it out of spec makes me question things.

Thanks

I've personally had at least 8 stealths and buddies have had another 4 or 5. All have had fluted barrels. What are the other specs on the rifle? Was it bought new or from an individual? I could see someone throwing a 12 FV in a stealth take off and reselling it. All stealths are also large shank actions.

It was purchased new, granted it was a display model

well i'll be, that is a large shank and the letters are indexed correctly. Can't think of another large shank version that isn't fluted (LRP is fluted). The magazine looks correct, should have savage on the bottom, but could be mdt. Maybe a retailer exclusive offering. Some large retailers get custom configurations (cabelas has the 10-t and a custom ashbury precision, sportsmans guide has a special version 6mm CM fcp-sr).
