looking for a better stock for my 223 model 12fv, any thoughts on the Choate ultimate varmint stock, i know its heavy, not going to be a carry gun, shooting off bench mainly. i have the Bell & Carlson 2997 on my 6.5 creedmoor, good stock, but trying a save a few bucks.

FWIW I really like mine..I like the fit..Have only shot it a
couple times and I can hold it more steady..Mine is a
223..I think you will like it..Some say their ugly, but who
really cares as long as it works for you..

I love mine so much I bought a 2nd one for my new build.
I actually really like the looks. I also like the feel of the grip and love the built in monopod on the rear. Set the front on a stand or some bags, and you are good to go.

I have one. I love the bedding blocks. It keeps everything snug and in place. The monopod on the butt is nice, and the sliding rail for the bipod is nice. I got an extra short bipod for bench shooting. The only gripe I have is the grip is very chunky and large, so much that I can's seem to get a perfect grip, and I have decently large hands (6'1", 225lb). The manufacturer says you can grind/file it down, but I haven't gotten to that.
