Can I convert from an internal box mag to a DBM? As you can tell, I've got hundreds of questions prior to my first build. If I purchase a rifle with an internal box mag or a hinged floorplate, I'm looking to scavange the reciever only, then is it possible to convert to a DBM no matter what was originally on there?

Sure you can convert it. Youd need to buy the correct hardware for it as well as a stock inletted for the dbm.

FYI, the bottom hardware isnt cheap, and if you were to find a used Savage w/a dbm at a gunshow or something, you'd probably pay about the same price as one w/a blind mag. Might save you some money on your build that way.

This is a Stevens centerfeed wearing a KSA Tundra Deluxe (from Stocky's) converted to DBM. The bottom metal for the conversion ran $107 shipped from Savage. Sharp Shooter Supply's prices are better but Savage was easier to contact.

Third rifle from top.
