I was thinking of giving the 45 gr JHP a try in my Savage Model 12 Varmint. Interested to hear from anyone shooting them in a Savage with a 1-9 twist.

i don't shoot them out of a savage but another barrel that is 1-9 twist.... blows the shit out of rabbits and small fuzzy things.

Winchester varmint rounds with the 45 gr jhp is one of my savages favorite rounds, I have the 1 in 9 factory barrel

Similar to Drybean, I used the Win white box 45 gr HP to fireform for my 223AI. They shot just about as good as my handloads do.

I shot loads of them out of an 1/9" FP10 I had, great for varmints, but blew for long range shooting.

You might also want to try Sierra's 45gr spitzers. Grouped in the 3's with my FP10 and AA2230 .. seems around 3450fps .. but I'd have to dig up my records. Used this load on a Wyo PD hunt.. loaded 350 rounds came back with but a handfull. DEADLY! OUT TO 375YDS .. 200 Zero. Very explosive.. All RED HAZE.
