I'm trying to finish up my 6.5 Swede build and need to pick out a scope.
I have it narrowed down to 3 scopes.
1- Vortex Viper HS-T 6-24x50mm
2- Athlon Optics Argos BTR 6-24x50
3- Athlon Optics Argos BTR 8-34x56\

What are you going to use it for? Long range? hunting in thick stuff? just plinking steel? what's your max range? Don't think you'll ever need more than a 6-24 even when shooting long distance (1000 yards or more).

Of the 3 I would lean towards the Vortex HS-T.

Long range out to 1000 yards plinking
I should have put that in the post lol

Vortex HS-T will get it done for you and the Warranty on it is unmatched... If you run over the vortex with your truck accidentally they will send you a new one.

Next question being that one is ffp and the other is 2fp. what would be better for my application

I am betting you would be more satisfied with a FFP. It does things a SFP scope does not. The next thing is tracking.

^^^ what Robinhood said... I am a big FFP fan now that I have one... (Sightron SIII 6-24x50) I hated having my subtensions change on me if I had to dial my magnification down because my barrel gets too hot, or the mirage is too bad... I don't have that problem with my FFP scope. Mine is the 2-MOA reticle and it is always 2 MOA from hashmark to hashmark. Doesn't matter if I'm on 6 or 24. I don't think I'll ever go back to SFP if I'm buying anymore scopes. I still will use my SFP scopes that I have, but they are my set it and forget it scopes.

All of the scopes should track well, durability is about the same on all. The athalon might not warranty if you run over it with a truck, but other than that they are pretty similar but the price.

I agree with the other guys, FFP on everything , even hunting scopes is surely the way to go. Once you get used to it, it is hard to not have it.
