New to the forum guys so thank you for your input in advance. I’m trying to install a BAD Lever on a recon but every place online I’ve looked and on YouTube talk about how there is no BAD Lever available because of how the trigger guard design is. My question is do any of you have a recon with a working bad lever or do any of you know of a bad lever that will work. Secondly do normal charging handles work with the recon. I don’t have any other AR to go off of and from what I can see online they look pretty much the same.

Thank you all.

From the pics I've seen I don't know why they wouldn't work. There are a couple different makers of those levers out there. Try it,if they don't work send them back. I wouldn't have an AR without a BAD lever and I really like the Strike Industries charging handles.

My guess is that the problem is that raised ridge that extends back from the magazine housing just above the trigger opening. A standard AR lower doesn't have that.

That raised ridge is a problem. i have both the msr 10 in 6.5 creedmoor and the msr 15 in the 224 valkyrie. would like to find a bad lever for each.

Perhaps some creative bending might make it possible.

I had a polymer lower that had had that same dumb ridge. I emailed the mfr about grinding it down so I could use a BAD lever but they never got back to me.

As a lefty I don't have to worry about whether or not a BAD lever will fit. :p

Doesn't that brass bouncing off your nose hurt after while?

Nope, that's what the brass deflector is for on the A2 and A3 upper receivers.

Its the smoke and gas that gets the lefties.

Never had a problem with that either, but I don't own a suppressor.
