220D mfg dae?

I have an old 16 Ga 220D and I’m trying to narrow down year of mfg. I can’t find a serial number on it. Am I missing something? Thanks in advance

Made before S/N's were required. They were made from 1938-1965 (top lever) and 1965-1972 (side lever). Those made from 1949-1969 will have a date stamp on them (number and letter) where the letter indicates the year it was made.

The 220D was made in Chicopee and not Utica so ya, it will have a date code on it somewhere.
