what was the problem and solution? asking because i plan to take mine off in the next month or so.

Most likely required three grunts rather than the typical two grunts to break it loose.

Angle grinder with cutoff wheel and a 2.5 foot breaker bar. Cut two slots down to the threads and added oil. Put it in a vise and put all 200 lbs of me on the 2.5 foot bar.
