Newbie Savage owner-question on FCP

I have a model 10 accutrigger, heavy 20" fluted barrel, with uply tan stock.

Any idea what year this came out? Any additional details about this gun?

I have a Burris BD 4-16x50 scope for this gun and I'm looking to do some LR shooting and hunting. Thx for any and all responses.

Does it by chance have a thread protector on the end? The reason I ask is I recently picked up a 10PC with thread protector that has 5R barrel and I have heard rumors of some with the tan accustock with the 5R also. But it also maybe a run of guns they made for a certain distributor this year. I can't remember which distributor though. Do you have the box it came in that should have a full model # on it and with it you can tell alot about a rifle.

no thread protector JM, but I have no prob telling people I have a 5r barrel! Ha!

I have seen or "heard" others say this is a Dick's sporting goods run of rifles.
