I just took delivery of a Model 16 in 7mm-08. My first trip to the range was yesterday and I went with only a couple loads for Nosler 120 grain Ballistic tips. Fired 6 rounds to break in, cleaned the barrel and then got serious. Couldn't figure out how to attach the photos, suffice to say 48 grains of W760 gave me a .829 group, while 43 grains of Varget shot an amazing .443!

Love the feel and heft of the rifle. Pleasant to shoot. I had a custom ultra light rifle build about 10 years ago for 4 times the cost and it didn't shoot near as well and kicked like a mule!

Only issue I have is the magazine feeding. The first and last round chamber with no problem, the middle rounds get pushed down into the magazine and I have to back the bold off a little then go forward again to chamber the round. Not good when I am getting charged by woodchucks! Anyone have that problem? How was it fixed?

P.S. I let Savage know and they are sending me a replacement.
