If you're making your own pillars, remove the trigger assembly BEFORE cutting the pillars to length :rolleyes:. I had mine all ready to go, picked up the new hardware I needed to proceed, and was checking the fit without the stock for the first time, when I realized I'd set the length of the rear pillar with it hitting the bolt release. NOW it finally clicks as to why there's a notch in the rear pillar. I hadn't given it much thought as I plan on milling the notch after it's epoxied in.
Needless to say, I'll be turning a new rear pillar this evening. Which isn't all bad, I wasn't as happy with that one as I am with the front anyway. I'm doing a 2 piece front like in the 6mm BR link, which is also why I decided to use steel instead of aluminum. I polished and cold blued the escutcheon, I think it's going to look pretty good when done. I've never had good luck blackening aluminum, and a shiny piece of it would look out of place on an otherwise all black rifle. Later.
