I'm all new to high power shooting let alone barrel replacement and have little to no idea about which contour to choose for the 6 creedmoor stealth evolution chassis , rifle primary use will be off a bench for 500 to 1000 meter steel silhouette matches shooting berger 105 hybrids
and then we throw in which barrel maker and the options become even greater
recommendations please

Unfamiliar with that particular chassis, most of them are very roomy. I really like the Savage Magnum contour, still man-portable and quite a bit more meat to them for barrel threading, fluting, etc.

I've never gotten a bad XCaliber. I've been in contact with the Ragged Hole Barrel guys too, very responsive to questions, believe they are a sponsor here? I will try a blank from them next.

Try northland shooters supply. Knowledgeable and should be able to guide you. They stock critereon and shilen prefit barrels. Both are considered quality products. also sponsors of this site.

if shooting off a bipod without much movement I prefer a Heavy Palma or better. If shooting unsupported I'd go with a medium Palma. The Marksman Contour splits the difference between the medium and heavy palma.

X-CALIBER makes great barrels with many contours. I got a .308 1-10" 5r. 26 inches. i got the small shank that goes to 1.0 at the muzzle. cryo treated. shoots like a dream.

Go with the "Bull", 1" at muzzle if not walking with the rifle for hours on end.

Shilen is good but sometimes they'll chamber the barrel with little freebore, which is not ideal for heavier bullets.

I have bought barrels from Northland for a few years and am well satisfied. He will be a great help with advice you can trust.
