Depends on what grain? 270 is one of my favorite rounds then comes the 243.

I don't shoot 270, but I have taken a few coyote with the 162gr in my 7-08... it's certainly not a pelt saver. I hit one in the back right behind the shoulder blades at about 180yds... it was not a pretty sight, but it sure was a quick kill.

I shot the 145 gr. ELD-X out of my 270 while I was waiting for my 260 Rem barrel to arrive. It was an accurate round, and I was getting a little over 2900 fps out of a 22 inch barrel. Never tried it out on Critters however. Still haven't tried the 143 ELD-X for the 260 on any critters yet either, but I read a pretty good write up from Panhandle precision that looks to be positive.

I wasn’t listing in any order but btwn the two and you and I, I love love my 243. Flat shooting and easy on the shoulder. 115grn pills can take out anything in the lower 48! Penetration comparison to my 300wsm, 308, 270 —- lets just say there’s no comparison in penetration and destruction! Out of all the cals: 243, 270, 300wsm, 308 :)... I don’t shoot my 30-06 much anymore though :(

It is an accurate round good for hunting but didnt fair too well in long range and competitive shooting
Berger makes decent bullets but by comparison are inferior to the ballistics of the 6.5s or 7s with equal recoil. These are my opinions on the 270
